Anita Bradley
Director of Law & Governance / Monitoring Officer, Oxfordshire County CouncilAnita Bradley is the Director of Law and Governance and Monitoring Officer at Oxfordshire County Council, bringing 38 years of wide-ranging legal and leadership experience across both private practice and local government.
In her current role, Anita as a key member of the council’s Strategic Leadership Team, oversees legal, governance, information management, coroner’s and registration services. Her career includes advising Chief Executives and senior leaders, delivering complex governance solutions, leading large multidisciplinary teams, and undertaking a secondment with NHS England. She is known for her strategic insight, calm leadership under pressure, and commitment to high standards in public sector decision-making.
Anita brings a deep understanding of the challenges facing local government—from financial pressures to service demand, local government reorganisation and devolution, organisational resilience, and recruitment and retention. She is skilled at building constructive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Throughout her career, Anita has championed strong governance, ethical leadership, and effective public service. Her work continues to support the council in navigating complexity, strengthening assurance, and delivering better outcomes for communities.
